HG Farms is located in Columbus County, North Carolina, which is
between Myrtle Beach, SC and Wilmington, NC. Our farm has always been
a working farm growing small grain, tobacco, cabbages, sweet potatoes
and registered polled Hereford.
After our parents retired from farming, we took over the farm. We
were growing small grain and tobacco. We needed to clear the undergrowth
in some woods, so we purchased a few goats from the stockyard. We
began to read up on goats and found a whole new world.-- "The Boer
Goats"
With tobacco farming not looking too good for the future, we became
interested in the "Boer Goats" as a money crop.
In 2000 we began our Boer Goat Business with the help of Prentice
and Jerry McDonald. We could not ask for better mentors.
Our goal is to produce good, healthy, prime choice Boer meat goats.
This we are doing by choosing the best breeding stock we can. We use
a stringent health maintenance program to keep our herd healthy and
disease free. We invite you to come and visit our farm, and hope you
enjoy our web site.
